Our 45HOURS package provides all the real estate continuing education (CE) required for all California licensees (both salespersons and brokers) except salespersons renewing for the first time.  Salespersons renewing for the first time need 15HOURS of continuing education.  Click for DRE's official explanation of its CE requirements.

Confused about your CE requirement?  Consult our WIZARD.  Our Wizard will look up your Department of Real Estate record and tell you exactly what you need and when you will need it.  Or, if you prefer, call us at 818/716-1028.

If you want to know how our online programs work, register for our Demonstration Course, read the sample textbook, take and pass its final exam, and then print your sample certificate.

Our 45HOURS package has three components:  1) our 15Hours Package, 2) our 5-hour Defensive Real Estate course, and 3) our 25-hour Loans course, The Mortgage Encyclopedia.  Together these three components satisfy your entire 45-hour continuing education requirement:

Our 15Hours package satisfies the mandatory course component of the 45-hour requirement.  It consists of five, three-hour courses:  1) Ethics, 2) Agency, 3) Trust Funds, 4) Fair Housing, and 5) Risk Management.  The textbook for each course is a PDF file designed to be read as an eBook using the free Adobe Reader(To view the first 15 pages of any course's textbook, including its table of contents, click it's name:  Ethics, Agency, Trust Funds, Fair Housing, and Risk Management.)

Our Defensive Real Estate course is a continuation of our three-hour Risk Management course.  It is approved for five-hours of CE credit under the category of Consumer Protection.  Both courses are designed to help California residential real estate brokers prevent disputes with their clients.  Topics include: · litigation concepts and methods, · major areas of risk, · home inspectors and inspection, and · insurance.  The course textbook is a PDF file designed to be read as an eBook using the free Adobe Reader(To view the first 15 pages of the textbook, including its table of contents, click here .)

Our 25-hour LOANS course is The Mortgage Encyclopedia by Jack Guttentag  a.k.a., the "Mortgage Professor."  He writes a syndicated column which appears in the real estate section of the L. A. Times.

Robert Bruss says of this book:  "This new book cannot be recommended too highly. Readers are very fortunate Guttentag shares his vast mortgage knowledge with us mere mortals (full review)."

Don't be put off by this book's title.  This is not a dry technical book.  It's called an "encyclopedia" only because its topics are arranged alphabetically.  To view the book's table of contents, click here to see Amazon's listing for this book and then click .

The course textbook is not included in the price.  It is widely available from many sources.  We recommend Amazon.  Their price is about $15.00  for their paperback copy and for only $2.00 more you may access the book online.

Exam Time:  This is the maximum time permitted to take the online test.  All exams are "open book."  You may take the test over-and-over until you pass without having to re-enter your previous answers.  Passing is 70% for all courses.
PDF:  The books for the five, three-hour courses (Ethics, Agency, Trust Funds, Fair Housing, and Risk Management) and the Defensive Real Estate course are available after payment.  These books are displayed by the Adobe Reader (i.e., they are PDF files).
AmazonOnlineReader:  This is Amazon's proprietary e-book reader.  It doesn't require any special software.  Both textbooks are available in e-book format for a nominal "E-Book Upgrade" charge.
5 Mortgage Encyclopedia Exam:  The exam for this course is structured in two parts.  Part 1 covers the first 10 hours of the course; Part 2 the remaining 15 hours.  Part 1 has 24 questions; Part 2 has 36.

IMPORTANT:  The DRE requires you to wait six days after paid registration before taking any final exam; and, the DRE limits the number of course-hours you may complete to 15-hours in any 24-hour period.  Therefore, the minimum number of days needed to pass all 45-hours is nine.  For example, on the seventh day following your paid registration you could pass all five of the courses in our 15Hours Package for a total of 15hours; on the eighth day you could pass our five-hour Defensive Real Estate course and Part 1/2 of the exam for the Mortgage Encyclopedia; and on the ninth day you could pass Part 2/2 of the exam for the Mortgage Encyclopedia.

After you register and pay you will be given immediate access to all the online textbooks except for the Mortgage Encyclopedia.  The textbook for the Mortgage Encyclopedia may be purchased from Amazon or other sources for about $15.

Price does not include the textbook for The Mortgage Encyclopedia.  You may obtain it from Amazon for about $15.00 or from several other sources.
